J For A J" Dress Shoe Scholarship
The dual purpose of the "J For A J" Dress Shoe Scholarship is to:
Use the ongoing craze for one of the world’s most popular sneaker brands, Nike Air Jordan, as a technique to enlighten young men about the importance of professional dress awareness as they enter the collegiate and workforce arenas.
Reward students for their scholastic and community achievements.
We are taking a practical approach to the term “Dress for Success”. This year, we have opened the scholarship initiative to all seniors, both male and female, throughout the entire state of Alabama! A total of 10 exceptional graduating students will be chosen and presented with several items that we consider to be essential to their professional attire.
As part of this Power Pack, each winner will receive a(n):
Brand new pair of quality dress shoes
(Ladies receive Jessica Simpson dress heels; Gentlemen receive Johnston and Murphy dress shoes)
Pair of dress socks
Embossed portfolio
Shoe-shine kit
Garment Bag
Each "J For A J" event will focus around helping these teens to develop a vision for their lives, and teach them the importance of continuously investing in their future. These tools include:
